Ferme C.M. Gagnon
Saint-Michel
Recipients of the Porcine Farm of the year in 1993, bronze medallists of the Agricultural Merit in 1992 and silver in 1997, Claude Gagnon and Marielle Beaudoin are the owners of this dynamic enterprise of 230 breeder-producer sows.
"When we started in insemination in 1982, we used this technique for the sake of convenience We quickly realized that the technique was more practical and that we could retrieve the spaces left by the reformed boars to increase our stock of sows. Today, we use insemination of our sows at 100% and our results are excellent with regard to the rate of droppings (90%) and total-born (12.3). With CIPQ, we can count on a quality product and a reliable and punctual delivery service."

Saint-Thomas de Caxton
This enterprise of breeder type is situated in Mauricie and has 250 sows.
"We contacted the CIPQ for the first time in 1992 for a demonstration at the farm. At the beginning, we used the method of insemination on one or two sows a week. When we became comfortable with the technique and noticed that the rate of success was excellent, we increased the rate of utilization of insemination. Today, more than 70% of the sows from our herd are inseminated. We have noticed an improvement in the proliferation and the fertility rate of the herd. Morover, the practice of insemination enabled us tu control the uterine infection problem we had in our sows by eliminating several boars.. We appreciate the efficiency of the delivery service from CIPQ very much."

Saint-Luc de Vincennes
This farm is the property of Mr. Denis Beaudoin and Mrs Roseline Cossette and has a herd of 385 sows.
"My first contact with CIPQ goes back to the eighties during a training session in St-Lambert. In the beginning, insemination represented only 20% of my breeding. Today, with the advantages obtained by the Privilège Program + and the delivery service, at least 95% of the herd is inseminated. What I appreciate with this technique, is its easy and rapid procedure. I also have fewer problems with infection and an excellent rate of fertility. My boars are used only for the detection of in heat periods. I use a detection saddle, a systematic way for verification of in heat periods and I find it equally efficient to keep the sow immobile at the moment of insemination."

Sainte-Rosalie
This farm is the property of COMAX and Bertrand Charest & Guy St-Laurent are the people in charge. The enterprise, which was acquired in the summer of 1998 by the 1998 by the coop, has 1300 sows.
"An important breeding outfit like ours, functioning with premature weaning, cannot go without the technique of porcine insemination. We have chosen to get our supply from CIPQ. This decision is based on the quality of the product, guaranteed by the expertise acquired by this center which has existed for 20 years and by the recognized quality ISO 9002. The fast and reliable delivery service of the CIPQ makes it a must in our region. In addition,, the Privilège+ Program affords us considerable savings, which made us decide not to do any harvesting of semen at the farm."
Ferme Pic Rouge
Lyster
This enterprise, property of Mr. Viateur Fournier and Mr. Vincent Fournier and Mrs. Doris Noël, has existed since 1992 and has been proclaimed the Porcine Farm of the year in 1996. It accounts today for a maternity of 500 sows and a fattening capacity of 3300 pigs.
"When we started in 1992, we used insemination on 30 to 40% of our sows . Seeing that our technique and our results were improving, we gradually diminished the number of males and today our insemination rate is at 85%. It is understood that with the management of sows in groups every 3 weeks, insemination becomes essential. Moreover, we wanted to improve our classification at the slaughterhouse which has led us to use the Lean Super-Mix."
"We have used the services of CIPQ Inc. since the beginning because of the quality of its product, the speed and reliability of its delivery service, which is very important when we use insemination on 85% of our sows."

Saint-Valérien
Paulin Côté is co-owner and in charge of a nursery which accommodates 1300 sows.
"Here, 95% of the sows are inseminated. I only have 17 males and I intend to progressively reduce that number, because they are only used for detection of in heat periods. I have choosen to get my stock from CIPQ because I consider that the semen, prepared by serious people, is of a superior quality. Our buyer said recently that he is very satisfied with the quality of the piglets. Also, the delivery is very fast. I am very satisfied with the insemination tubes and the THERMOFIX has proven to be a very good buy to preserve the quality of the delivered semen."
